Default New 2010 Mustang GT, Let the modding begin!

Well I decided to get rid of my modded 335i that was leased and purchase and new Mustang GT. The big issue for me has always been the interiors and I do not feel like I am missing anything and I think this car is at least as fast as the one this one replaced. I will do more reading than posting for the next few weeks but I just wanted to say hello. I am not sure what my first mod will be yet but I should have a better idea shortly.

Welcome & as the member above stated, once you start you will never stop!

Some good first mods are:

1. A CAI w/a tune
2. Different exhaust
3. short shifter
4. lower the car
5. Wheels/tires

etc....I'm sure many will chime in, enjoy the car!!!

$34K.....great looking car, but I can't believe how much the new GT's went up.....still worth it in my book but just a lesson in life. EVERYTHING goes up...nothing comes down.

+1 on welcome to the forum

Unless you're planning on going FI right away, a CAI & tune combo is the biggest bang-for-the-buck mod. Kudos to your plan to read before you leap.

+1 to both of these comments! Mine was bone stock for 18 months, then I got the "bug" and found a couple forums like MF... and the rest can be seen in my signature along with my drained savings

+1 on reading and doing research. I can't count how many people on here get K&N CAIs and throttle body spacers before realizing that neither make an improvement.

I started doing research 6 months before I even took delivery of my Mustang GT.

And of course, welcome to the forum!

What do they mean by "California emissions system?" Does this car have FOUR cats?

First mod, get rid of that California crap.
