Automatic Transmission Resisting Me

The TCI ratchet shifter is less than $400 I believe. It's a great shifter. Looks awesome and is all metal so it doesn't feel cheap like the stocker.
Putting it in D is like stock, pull back on the front flapper thing and pull straight back to D. It will only ratchet when going between 1-D.

Not to sound like a noob Pascal but can you tell me how to do this? I swear if I do it and it works, I'm gonna go tell them that me and my family are taking our 4 ford cars to another dealership from now on. I don't have a job until January, and if they're out to screw someone like me over like that, they're done.
And I was already researching the ratchet shifter just in case! I can get it from a retailer for $290 after a coupon code, so if I do have to replace the sucker, this kid is gonna go that route.
And I found this on the Legend Lime Registry. If I can replace the T-handle with a shifter ball, I really like that.

$290 is excellent. Just get it, you won't be sorry!
You can put any kind of handle/ball you want on it. TCI uses the same threads that the Hurst is for the manual. It's 3/8-16.
Grabber Pony has some cool custom shift *****. http://www.grabberpony.com/index.php...d&productId=35
