Default HELP!!! 07 GT parking brake frozen

As the title says the parking brake on my 07 is frozen. This is nothing new as it has done it since I bought it a year and a half ago. I haven't had a problem with it as I just don't pull the e brake on cold days, just leave it in gear. Some times it will get colder than I thought it would over night and freeze up, but after a few blocks of driving (I know, wrong thing to do when your brake is on), it will let loose. I finally took it to the stealership today to have it looked at, the guy told me they found a noticeable amount of water in the cables, and they tool care of it by somehow drying them and then re-lubing them.

I thought, cool its fixed. Pulled the e brake this afternoon, got back to the car, and they were dragging again. They didn't ever release and by the time I could get stopped, the passenger rear rotor was glowing.

I know there is a TSB out for the e brake cable, but it says for cars built prior to 10/1/2005. As mine is an 07 it doesn't fall into this category.

Need some advice.

Default feel your pain

I have an 06 and the same happened to me last winter. The E brake was not right feeling from the start but got worse. The only fix is to put new cables in, problem fixed and smooth as glass.

You're still under warranty. Take it in, hand them a copy of the TSB (regardless that it doesn't cover '07) and simply tell them to fix it.

lol, these threads again!

the issue is present on 05-07 regardless of what the TSB states. there are tons of threads on the issue with later years cars.

I had the same problem with my '06. It was still under warranty and the dealer installed 2 new cables. Haven't had any more problem (knock on wood).

Sorry to bring it up again. I'm actually not under warranty, just passed 37k. I will find new cables and replace them, thanks for the info.
