^^^ Exactly! You only need a 1/2-3/4 turn past where the gasket contacts. I've watched quite a few people(including shop employees) crank and crank and crank on them until they can't tighten any more. Bad idea.

As far as filter goes, Motorcraft and NAPA are my personal favs. I didn't know that FRPP made an oil filters. But then again, I'm a new recruit from the bowtie crowd.

I use 6qt royal purple 5W-20 with a K&N gold HP2010 filter

Royal purple is starting to make oil filters so I'll have to see how they stack up

but I might still stick with K&N for the nut (why by a tool just for taking off a filter when you can use a socket wrench)
