This isn't about life, this is about asking Ford to stand behind their product. They admit it's a production problem so why should I be required to share the cost on that especially on a car that's only 2 1/2 years old. Shouldn't paint jobs last slightly longer than that? As for my "share", isn't it that thing called a monthly payment?
Oh well maybe you don't mind the paint flaking off your Mustang but I do.

I bet if you go and look under your GT you will find the same problem that I would say 98% Mustang owners are experiencing......then you can tell me that life is fair.

If Ford cant apply the proper coatings with the proper procedure
to prevent corrosion, (this is not the first piece of aluminum to be painted in the US)
what makes you think some small stealership body shop (yuk, they suk)
can apply a finish that wont do, in the near future, what you are seeing?
Thats insane to think that way.
AFTERMARKET hood time and you will be smiling for a good long time.

I do like the looks of the ram-air hoods....soooo sexy! But since mine is still under warranty (not for much longer though) I decided to let Ford pay for the fix. Hopefully it will prolong the issue while I save for the hood I really want.

Guys, I had the same problem last summer and took it to my dealer. Ford replaced my hood with a new one at no cost to me. They had a outside bodyshop do the paint and blend the fenders as well. The total cost was over $1600. I had 70K miles at the time.

I'll have to get some pictures today before the rain starts. Wishing I had my garage cleared so I can park my baby inside.
