buy a s197 gt now or wait?
Now that there is info coming out about the new v6 practically making the same numbers as the 05-09 gts.. I see alot of people getting rid of their cars.. should i start looking now for a 05-09 gt or wait another year? I need to get into an s197 before they go out of style lol. Im just paranoid about the price drops

The best thing to do money wise is to lay and wait for the 2011 to hit the dealerships.
Once those are out people are going to start asking why they should buy anything else even if they price is a little higher.
With all the new cool goodies that the V6 is getting, you can bet that the GT will get more which means people will find a reason to spend the extra money on New VS Used or 2-10k more than the 2010 if they dont keep the same pricing.
If they keep the same pricing (At least for the GT) you will see the 05-10 GT drop like crazy.
Save your money now for a down payment or mods for when you get your new baby. Dont worry about them going out of style, there is so much that can change the look of these and the 2010 is the cheaper 2011 (Which I think the 10-11' look better anyways.)
You will also find people bailing on their old 05-10's because they want the new V6 or Coyote 5.0 DOHC and willing to let them go for a fraction of what they were new.
Its a waiting game and the first one in line with the cash wins

I don't know why the new Mustang would make the others depreciate faster. Doesn't make any sense. I'd expect the 05-09 to continue to depreciate at the same rate they have been. It's going to SUCK for the leftover 2010's on the lot, those will be heavily discounted when the 2011's are sitting right next to them.

Yes, the 05-09 GTs and V6s will definitely depreciate quicker once the 2011s come out. Dealerships are going to be flooded with people trading in their S197s for when the 2011s come out with more horsepower.

just find a good deal and buy one
the guys are right about the 05-09 value dropping like a rock once the 2011's hit the lots. I'm figuring on my car loosing easily $3-4,000 in value overnight once the 2011's are released

i would buy depending on your immediate "desire," if you want to mod the car out instantly, then i would buy an s197 since the parts are going to be FAR CHEAPER , but if you plan on keeping it stock or mostly stock, except for exhuast or something, then i would get the '11
