Lighted Door Sills.... Long and informative install with pics!

So let's say one has an 05 GT Convertible and 08 lighted SVT take offs from a GT500. Seems the GT500 plates have a red two wire connector which makes sense given what I see here. If I'm reading and understanding everything right then what I would need is:
* Red/Black wiring - enough to tap onto the passenger side, to run to the passenger and driver door panel, so maybe.... 15'?
* Some of them handy looking blue splice connectors - where can one get those?
* Either the female end of the GT500 lighted sill connector, or just tie the wires on the plates to the wires run somehow - inline connector I presume.
Am I about right?

FYI, since we MFers sometimes forget to update the posts, I will be ordering these in the next few weeks <http://www.fordshowparts.com/store_contents.cfm?cart_id=03145230570111114100831 049103420122903&store_id=1&dept_id=1138&product_id =6970> and will let y'all know how it goes!!! Anyone ever get these custom ones? Anyone use the "GT/CS" logo? Anyone? Bueller? Joo?

For those looking to do this: in both the AT and MT versions of the S197, where the shifter is, there is a power connector for the AT selector (it also is used for transmission interlock signaling). Tap the black wire and the wire beneath it (looks gray to me, but could be a light blue). Those wires go hot when the lights are turned on and are used to illuminate the AT selector. This plug is unused in MT vehicles but is still active. Running cable to this plug is much easier than removing the A-pillar covers and splicing into the map lamps.
Additionally, if you go with the newer illuminated door sills or take-offs (they have RGB LEDs), you can use RGB LED controllers (eBay - ~$25 - the come with robust remote controllers) to give yourself variable ambient lighting. However, the polarity of the door sills and that of the controllers aren't the same. For that, you'd have to take the output from the RGB LED controller and run each color's wire and V+ through a full wave bridge rectifier ($4/ea. at Radio Shack - 25 A/50V). Doing this will flip the polarity and allow the LEDs to work (yeah - don't flip the wires powering the controller, unless you like the smell of burnt electronic components.) The added bonus is you can then add a string of LEDs (also on eBay for ~$30 - 5M of 5050 RGB SMDs) to anywhere in your vehicle.
Tying in to the built in MyColor system might be possible, but that would likely mean removing the dash cluster and stealing the signals from one of the LEDs. Maybe, if I find a junk cluster somewhere, I'll try it. I'm fine with using the remote control that came with my LED controller - and it gives me many more options than MyColor.
