If you combine the wire that makes it dark blue with the one that makes it green, you'll get something really close to the light blue dash color. It might not be a perfect match, but it's pretty darn close.

If I were to wire courtesy lights using the same steps, could they be turned on with the dimmer switch?

Ive been thinking about the same thing as I want to wire up some door lights.

I dont see why it wouldnt work if you wire them up so they turn on when you open the door and then wire them to the dimmer switch so you can turn them on after you close the door.

If you want to wire them to the dimmer you will need to use the 2nd pin - White with blue stripe - this is the dimmer controlled light power wire.

Awesome.. keep us posted on your results.
Sadly none of the wires had the same colors as I've read on this thread and don't know much about checking pins ect. So instead I went ahead and tapped in at the dome light and had perfect results, fades and turns on at the correct times.
