Default 3:73 vs. 3:31 Automatic!

Hey guys, i was looking for a Christmas Present for my Mustang and was wondering if it would be that much of a difference from changing out my stock 3:31 to a 3:37? Any thoughts or better mods will it be a big difference?

3.73 with the 5r55s auto is equivalent to 4.10 on a manual which everyone says is a huge difference and one of the best mods they ever did.

Do you guys think my Gas mileage would suffer greatly if I kept my foot out of it! I did not buy a Mustang to worry about gas but it is my daily driver so it does matter to some extent! And one other thing do you think my Top End Speed will be affected?

I have the 3.73 gears in mine and the mileage on hwy is avg 24.5 mpg, I am at @20 mpg in the city... Not as good as my 2005 GT with 3.31 but not bad at all

Our 07 with 3.73s and auto dropped about 2 mpg on the highway but we actually picked up 1-2 mpg in every day city driving.

^^^ I see the same issue. City driving is very respectable gas mileage on mine as well.

I am seeing the same thing on a V6 for the city driving (about 75% city for dd), but I've only had the 3.73's a few days so I am still watching the readout, but I used to always see about 18.9 on that display and now its been above 20.

With the torque on a GT, going to from 3.31 to 3.73 would be a real blast, hang on and enjoy!!!
