Which take-off brake set should I look for to fit my '07 GT?
Going to look for a set of brake take-offs to upgrade my '07 GT. Which ones should I focus on? I'm not positive which fit directly with no issues, and which to avoid. Have you upgraded your GT's brakes with OE brakes from other Mustangs? Which ones did you use and how did it work out?
As an alternative, I'm considering simply upping to a larger rotor and pad set, and relocating the stock calipers to accommodate...anyone ever do this? Any issues? Thank you, Dave |
Easiest and cheapest would be a set of Brembo's off a GT500 as you usually can get them for ~$500 for everything including the calipers, rotors, lines and backing plates. The only potential issue when going with bigger brakes is wheel fitment as many 18in. wheels, including all the stock ones, will not fit.

I went the GT500 take off route. There are a bunch of guys selling them on the team shelby forums. I wouldn't pay more than $400-500 if you decide to do it that way.

Thanks guys, I was reading that article abt the GT500 brakes, perfect.
I've got aftermarket wheels which will clear them no problem, so now I just have to hunt for a set in SoCal. |
