How'd your winter tires fare in Recent Snow This Weekend
Hey guys-anyone up in the northeast have any stories or issues with their tires this weekend with all the snow? I have the all season on mine and def didn't even bother driving.
Any1 have winter tires-just curious how you did in them

Even with winter tires, it's like putting perfume on a pig. If at all possible, get yourself a winter beater, put the Stang away and tell your insurance agent to drop collision on the Stang.
After many, many of driving miles (over 1,000,000) and cars (12?), the Stang is the worst I've ever driven in the snow, even WITH good winter tires. Even worse than my '78 Camaro with posi.

much better!
been driving mustangs in the northeast snow for 6 years now. not a single problem, other then the low ground clearance. snow tires on a posi with some weight in the truck is fine.

If I lived in a snowy place, I would follow Nuke's advice. Look at it this way: Would you drive a Ferrari in the snow? I think not! Put it away if you can work it, and drive a big truck. That way you can have the convenience of a truck with snow tires, and you can make some extra money on the side clearing out peoples driveways of snow. Always looking for the bright spot, I am.

here in MI we havent gotten that much snow yet. I have winter tires on my mustang, and drive it everyday. so far they have done very well in the snow and ice. still looking forward to a 6 in dump to really test them. Ive been in 2 in or so a couple times with no weight in the back tires didn't spin at all on accelerations.
here is an interesting article.

And yes buying a beater would be the best way to go. Unfortunately we all cannot do that for many reasons. I think comparing a mustang to a Ferrari is a little far fetched.
I also look at it this way....look at all the chrysler 300s, chargers, challengers, G8s, Infinities, BMW, Mercedes (and ive seen a few vettes out) that are rear wheel drive on the road in the winter. Just be careful and know your limits.
