Yeah..pull them out early even if it's just to clean them and put fresh anti-seize on them. I waited until 70k miles on mine and 5 of the 8 broke off in the heads....that was an expensive bill.

I am glad we have Mustang Forums like this one where we can all learn about this sparkplug problem and can avoid other problems and/or mistakes. These two piece Motorcraft sparkplugs were a BIG mistake by Ford, IMHO.

My 05 just passed 32000 miles, and I am getting ready to change mine. As much as I hate to do it, I am taking it to ford and let them do it. If they screw it up, its on them. Heard to many horror stories about it, so I am not even gonna screw with it.

Even if you break them, there is no reason to stress out about it. just buy the lisle tool and get the broken pieces out with no problem. I broke 4 in my 5.4 f150 and that tool had them out in no time.

This makes me wonder. I've got 80k on ours. Time to change them out, and now am not looking forward to it.

When you say it's on them hopefully you mean the aggrivation, because the bill is on you.

Are the Champion plugs a one and done deal? Or should they still be removed and cleaned periodically?

Here you go the lisle tool: http://www.denlorstools.com/home/dt1...65600_alt.html

I had 80k on my 5.4L and broke 4. I even had a fuel treatment done before I soaked them. The bill is on you. My local dealership wanted 250 to change plugs and 90 per plug if they broke. I was almost to the point of taking to the dealership to get them out. I ordered up the lisle and I might as well see if it would work. It took about 10 min per plug to remove. It worked really well.

The bill is on me, unless they screw it up and break the plugs. Then THAT is on them.
