Default Best place to jack up the front??

Installing my shorties tomorrow and im wondering the best method of lifting it and not having to worry about it. Normally i just jack up one side at the cutout right behind the tire on the side skirt and then slide a jackstand closeby just incase the jack fails.

So, how do you guys normally lift the car for an extended period of work?

I raise it buy the K member and then rest the car with jackstands under the K-member. Also I made some ramps out of wood one day that I can drive the car on to raise it....pretty easy to make ramps in a hour or so

You are going to install your headers and don't know what a k-member is?

This is going to be fun...

The k member (if you have one) is the support from the drivers side suspension directly over to the passenger side. Mine is inches away from the drain plug for the oil pan.

Take my advice, if your gonna be under the car for any extended length of time (like installing headers), then it makes it much easier if the jack stands are as far out of the way as possible leaving enough room to move around under the car. Header installs are never fun, and you dont want the jack stand right in the way when you need to reach all the way up to unbolt the manifolds.

Good luck.
