Default Tire Pressure Monitor Error

So about a month ago I bought an 07 GT. The tires that came on the stang are Goodyear F1 Supercar 255/45/18 front 285/40/18 rear. Every time I turn on the car, I get an error message on the display that says "Tire Pressure Monitor Error" or something like that. The dealer told me that because I don't have stock tires, the message will always be there. To get ride of it, I just have to press the Reset Button each time and the message goes away so its not that big of a deal. Did anyone deal with this before or knows how to prevent that message from popping up every time I turn on the car?

You need to add TPMS sensors to the wheels, and "program" them. The dealer can do that, I can't imagine why they wouldn't want some of your money.

Those monitors sound like a hassle. Glad I don't have them.

There's no known way to defeat TPMS other than to load sensors into a pressurized tube and toss it in the trunk. I'm not sure anyone has actually done that, however. A lot of people that have aftermarket wheels don't bother with sensors and simply do as you're doing; acknowledging the alert and resetting it.

Thanks a lot guys. I guess I'll just stick to the reset button and save my self the hassle and money.
