Not sure if you are a fan of Royal Purple, this is a Royal Purple Thread after all.....they make a product specifically for breaking new motors and their product description says "especially for motors with flat tappet camshafts" it also names Zinc as an ingredient.

No basis for opinion - I can't remember ever seeing RP in any of the local stores.

Although I've always used GM's EOS (EO$$$?), I'm not so dedicated to it that I wouldn't consider using the RP break in lube, although I won't ever go back to a flat-tappet cam. The guys over in the Classic section might be interested.
