I'd much rather go that route...
oh yeah...forgot about that bad puppy. didn't they also come with forged internals?

I agree. Here is a start-up clip of my Roushcharged 5.4 3v with a Magnaflow catback exhaust...sounded very nice to me.and some pre-blower clips

a 5.4 3v doesn't quite have the snarl that a 4.6 can pull, but it can sound mean. Especially with straight pipes...or the Roush Offroad

If you do end up going through with this let me know if you need an extra set of hands. I don't have much experience outside my school's autoshop and work on my own car but I'd be happy to come out to lend a hand, and i'm pretty local.

k, well it sounds like this is a no-go then. ive looked around but havent found cheap 5.4's its just frustrating having my mustang look the way it does and its backed up by such a tiny engine. just the other day i pulled up next to a real roush and he was talking to me about what i got, then when a guy pulled up next to us he wanted me to rev my engine to see whos sounded better... i never lie, so it just sucks having to say im powered by a V6, no offense to any other sixxers here. it just gets so frustrating, wanting more power that i cant get out of this engine. i guess im just getting desperate for a new motor.

who is the mod for the V-6 section? isn't he running a blower on his sixxer?

that honestly would be the route I'd take...that, or put your car back to 100% stock, then buy another red GT and slap your mods back on

ya but even after a blower, id still be making as much hp as some of you Gt's with bolt ons. if i put on a blower with cams and heads i could do 440. but then again i could do 440 with a blower on a 4.6 alone. and theres always the limitations of the sixxer engine. theres things for V8s that arnt for the V6. ive always thought about trading in my stang, but i mean how much could i get for a 05 V6 with 49K on the engine. then theres holes drilled in the body from my decklid spoiler. and the original front bumper has pretty bad road rash from my freind trying to inch it in a spot and he hit a low concrete wall.

Read the old 5.0L horsepower numbers then read about your 4.0
All that work for pretty much 15-25 horsepower...
I had a 1982 Mustang GT with the 5.0 or 302 engine, 4 speed manual. It was only good for 157 hp. The rumble of the V8 did sound nice, but it was all bark and no bite.
The current V6 has 210 hp. If I were the OP, I would Supercharge the V6 or wait until the new 5.0 engines are out.

Only the crankshaft, but the mill is sound with 300hp and 355 of torque.
Cast iron block though...
This is a good engine to turn into a 2000 Cobra R potential (385hp) with better flowing heads and more aggressive cams.

Red Beast, I don't know much about the Xcharger or other blower but the Vortech will give you 340rwhp at 10 psi. Bump it up to 13psi and you're at 370.
So you'll be faster than a GT with bolt ons regardless.

I dont know much about the v6, but with all that money your willing to spend, why notput a blower in your sixxer and continue to build on that? I know you will be satisfied with a blown v6 which can smack at bolt on GT sideways anyday. When you out grow your power, forge the internals and get a GT rearend and your done.

is that 370 really acheivable? and would that be 370 at the wheel? would a Vortech HO still sound pretty meaty even when at an idle?
