the 2011 GT is already available for pre-order now at the dealerships down here, I backed out because they tried to screw me over on my trade in. The 2011's will be arriving on the lots at the end of May and early June

Check it out... maybe they're still building?

I wonder when ford will update the "build your own mustang" on the site... thats always when I assume they change over to the next model year or is that when they actually show up on showroom floors

OP: What did you order? Perhaps one of your options cause the issue

This link -- to a post at another Mustang site -- was floating around here a couple months back.

Not sure how valid the info is, but in case you want to peek:

I love how it is Jan 9th, 9 days into the new year and you already can't order a 2010.

I'm inclined to believe the dates. I bought my '10 in May 09. Given that it was built and shipped by then they had to start production sometime in Jan-Feb 09 for the 10s.

Now take in the fact that the 11s are getting a new powerplant (and all the tooling changes that come with something like that) and it would make sense that mid Jan would be the shutdown date for 10s and the 11s would soon take over.

That's what we originally thought. I got the one appearance package that has the hood scoop, window louvers, side scoops and raised spoiler. My dealer said that may have been it, but he called me back later and said that they simply weren't building them anymore.

Hopefully he can figure something out in order to get me in a Mustang GT sooner, rather than later.
