You can easily add those exterior mods to any 2010. Heck I got a base model and did all that then some (except the hood scoop, doesnt look right).

Hopefully he can figure something out in order to get me in a Mustang GT sooner, rather than later.
I know that they are still being built, I called my dealer yesterday and my 2010 has not been made yet but is on the list to be made and he expects I'll get a VIN by next week mid week. He figures my car will be here by the end of January. I kind of doubt that by what others have said on these threads about there wait times, but I will see.

perhaps his order was part of a cut off? Maybe there are to many orders to fill between now and when they have to stop production.

2010V6Stang- I know I could just get these added to a GT off the lot, but when doing a dealer search before, we couldn't find one that matched what I wanted. Hence, we had to order one.

def67- I don't doubt they are still being built, just that mine must not have made the cutoff for getting the order completed before the factory switched over the the 2011 models. He is supposed to call me today and let me know exactly what we're going to have to do.

SirDrums- That was my assumption. I'm thinking I just didn't make the cut. They have to start cutting orders sometime in order to switch over, so I guess I'm just SOL until I can order a 2011.

Basically because I want/need a new car sooner rather than later.

I wanted the GT, so I ordered back in December, thinking I'd have it by Feb/March. Waiting on the `11 will push me back to the summer now.

Plus, I'm sure the 5.0 will make the insurance quote I got for the 2010 GT jump a bit. A 24 y/o single male with a 5.0 GT Mustang? Hello, astronomical insurance rate.

You could always get a used 07-09 GT500. They can be had in the 30's.

Also, when you turn 25 the insurance will go down a lot so it shouldn't be that bad.

I wish I could get a GT500, but I think I'd have a tough time getting a loan for a used car. I have a hefty down payment saved away, but that's going to be used to bring down the payments on my new car.

Considering I just turned 24 last week, I'll have to pay high insurance for a bit. But, thinking about it now, if I don't get the car until June, I'd only have to pay that high amount for six months. This could work out.

FYI according to State Farm it's no longer when you turn 25. It's based on the number of years you have had a license. My agent said it has been this way for a few years. YMMV.

I'm 28 and I pay $900 / year for full coverage including a $250 deductible and $100,000/$300,000 policy.

ordered mine in November and got told mid-late Jan.... still waiting.... but was told 3 Dec was the close-out date for any 2010 orders, after which you would be SOL.
