Just wondering how long till my exhaust starts developing leaks and/or needing new mufflers etc. When that happens I'm going to upgrade to something louder (not sure what yet)

Anyone else with stock exhaust know how long till I can upgrade?

Why do you think you have to wait to upgrade???

The stock exhaust will probably last quite a long time as most of it is SS (not sure what the alloy of the pipes is, though). Most of the better aftermarket axlebacks are SS, also.

In California, the exhaust system is warranted for (I think) 7 years as ordered by CARB. So I'd guess you have a long wait... if you want something different/better just do it.

yeah there is no need to wait for your exhaust to give out, they're pretty reliable. just go ahead and shop around for an exhaust that you would want to get and buy it. thats all i did and i'm very happy with my decision. way better than the stock sound, and appearance wise i could never go wrong

I love the stock mufflers. They actually gave me more torque/power compared to the pypes muffler deletes when mated with the JBA ceramic shorty headers. I still have the stock cat backs except for summit racing 3 inch cut outs welded behind each cat.. it screams! Stock exhaust flows well (aside from the headers).
