Default Rental, which should I add?

This isn't really mustang tech, but I didn't want to get butchered down in OT. I am going to add car rental to my insurance and just wanted opinions of either $30/day $900 max for $25 or $50/day $1500 max for $42.60. This is for a 6 month period. The recommended choice by Geico was.. of course, the more expensive. I'm thinking that I probably won't be getting much for $30/day yet I don't anticipate to use this service much.

Save the money and if you have a spare car, drive it instead. I have a beater just in case. A $600 LTD has saved me a lot of money in rentals.

get the highest rate per day

especially if you have kids. the lower rate per day is good for something the size of a Ford Fiesta or Chevy Aveo.

aka...freaking tiny.

the higher rate per day is good for a decent sized SUV or minivan.

I pay about $50 / 6 months for the highest rental covereage GEICO offers. used it once. had the rental for 2 weeks. it would have cost me almost $1,000 out of pocket without that coverage.

vs. paying $100 a year for the coverage...so yeah, I could pocket the $100/year. but if you use the coverage only once, it pays for itself many times over

get the cheapest and pay the rest out of pocket IF something happens. You already had your accident so you should be good for another couple years lol

I kinda had that same thought on my mind too. The higher premium is only $8 some extra a month but it adds up.. Hard choice. I only have to drive myself, so a smaller car isn't the end of the world. Just as long as its safe and takes me from point A to B. Plus like Matt said, I should be gtg for a few years (knock on wood)
Will think about it some more, don't owe for the next 6 months until end of January.
