The Gas Tank Theory
#31
my car is a 99, i put a kenne bell S/C on. they dont want you to get below a quarter tank in my modle year because the gas will slosh around under acceleration and it my cavitate, which could cause detination. they put a baffel in the tank in 2001 i think so it wouldnt happen. i would think that there is a baffel in the newer cars also plus i think they also have knock protection.i dont think there is any issue with running low on fuel but there is no reason to push it.

Oooh I'm interested to know what 1/2 bottle it is you're referring too-- hopefully Jack Daniels? Hell, I was stone sober when I read his post and still couldn't figure it out.
Math and I never really got along.

My wifey likes to see how far she can go per tank in the focus, drives me crazy and I always give her shizt for it, I totaly believe in the keep at least a querter tank in it, no water in the lines, fuel pump etc...
Maybe I'll change my ways but once you do things one way its hard to change.

As for the thread.. the price in gas does play a slight role for me. If the price is low or has dropped I will go fill up. Otherwise I will let it go to about a 1/4 before I bite the bullet and fill up at whatever price it's at. It goes both ways tho, sometimes I just don't have the time to fill when it's low, and when I need to get the gas, it's high..
