My 5-sp auto shifts just fine all by itself.

Key word...they are much more fun to drive but given the same mods i'm confident that my auto will outshift anybody driving a manual any day, lol

Manual is more fun to drive, no doubt.
For performance at the drag strip, an automatic is required for consistent times.

I give MYSELF grief whenever I'm driving around, except at the track where it kicks ***.

If you did a lot of stop-and-go driving daily, and automatic would be easier on you, of course, too.

I bought a stick because its more fun to drive. I guess auto's are good at the drag strip but I outrun them on the track too.... I don't know what to tell you lol. I would only get an auto for a truck.

At the track nobody cares if you have an auto or manual. What counts is if you are winning races and I dont mean test n tune bullsh$t. Real elimination bracket racing. You survive 5 rounds of racing, then your getting it done. Racing is about reaction time and consistancy. An auto makes that a lot easier, which is why 95% of the cars that race regularly have an auto in their cars.

For the record, my truck has a 6 speed manual in it, its a around town street beast, the auto in the mustang is the racing vehicle.

So you've been taking dimethyltryptamine before you drive his car?

I have always liked driving a stick but at just short of 70 years of age I do not mind an auto now. Beside that, if Grandma couldn`t drive it I wouldn`t have it now. She has never learned to drive a manual and there are not enough men on this forum to make her learn. So I will cruise around in my 13 + second v6 vert knowing that manual or auto this is one h--- of a car and we love it.

Just befor I bought my 07, I was on a cruise and talking with a group of people. One on the guys in they group worked for Ford as an engineer, at the Mustang plant. I asked him about the auto and the manual trannies. He told me that all of the guys at the plant who were into racing were buying Stangs with Autos. This advice did weigh heavy on my descision..
