These Electronic controled 4RWs are built to take the punishment. And you never miss a SHIFT!

I agree the 4r70w is an awesome trans and can be built strong as hell.

But, 2005-2010 mustangs use the 5R55S auto which is not as beefy as the 4R70W. A LOT of people with serious power adders swap in a 4R70W due to the 5R55S's lack of being able to stay together very long under very high power levels.

I'm curious to see how the new 6-speed auto holds up (6R80). It's rated to be much stronger than the 5R55S was (800 ft/lbs vs 550 ft/lbs after converter).

Ford says the 2011 6-speed Auto gets better gas mileage then the 6speed Manual.

Even the sound of going through the gears, a manual is unmatched. A manual is more reliable then an auto and when both need to be fixed the automatic costs more....

oh and by the way you cant get 3:73's with an auto so why even mention that...

When you go to test drive the 2011, will you choose the auto or the manual?

If a lot only has automatics, guess what? i will go to another lot with a manual. I wont even drive the automatic...

Ford Eng? files stay on thumb drive as you do updates, can you delete all those files after updates, sync website creates that folder and put files in there, so are they needed for future updates?

They're not required for future updates, but they ARE required to report a 'successful installation' to SyncMyRide.com.

You need to report the successful installation so that the website knows what version you are currently running. It needs to know that so it can offer you the proper updates as they become available.

After you report the successful installation on SyncMyRide.com (after logging in with your user name/password), you should be able to delete the files on the thumb drive that the installation process created.

For more SYNC-related questions, you may want to start a new thread on the Forum, though. (Can copy and paste replies from this thread if you'd like). It might help others locate the answers to the questions you asked, as the original point of this thread was the review of the 5.0 that I had the opportunity to drive for a few days. There's no charge for starting a new thread
