If doing so changes the resonances in the exhaust system in a way that's favorable at low rpm, it's at least possible.

Exhaust flow and (back)pressure are not nearly steady if you look at them in millisecond time frame reference.

It seems the general consensus is keep the cats in. I love the way mine sounds (Modified GT500 Off road X-pipe), but the turbo's keep the exhuast kind of quiet.

by far my favorite i have heard yet, i dont need any more convincing. how was fitment in your experience with the pypes o/r h? cause everything else of pypes seems to be garbage. and what exactly did you use for resonators, im wondering if my left over m-80s would work or would they be too quiet in combination with the boom tube tips. thanks for the good info here

The fitment left a little to be desired. First of all, you may notice that the end that attached to the exhaust manifold does not extend out as far as the stock H.....this means that it doesn't make a very good seal and you can guess what that sounds like! You can get some inserts that you drop in that extend it and make a better seal to the manifold. Brenspeed sent me a pair. Also, it comes in four pieces, but plan on welding the thing together as it seems impossible to seal the thing with clamps. Other than that, it was a good piece and everything lines up correctly.

I'm not sure what the exhaust shop used, but the inside looked identical to the inside of the boomtubes....perhaps they were glasspacks.

One thing you may try is to have the shop stagger the resonators when they weld them in by a few inches. I heard that this changes the "drone point" or "resonance range" or whatever you call it just enough to cut the drone down more. Not sure if it actually works, but my drone was cut considerably.

Hope this helps.
