forgot to mention, if you REALLY want to know for a fact how well your oil is working to protect your engine, doing an used oil analysis will give you hard evidence whether you can prolong your oil change interval or not. Blackstone Labs is a well known UOA tester/processor, just to name one, there are a few others.
