Default Rear passenger carpet damp? Help!

I've been reading about all this leak stuff lately..

I left a magazine on the passenger REAR floor, and picked it up today and it was damp. Stuck my hand on both the rear pass. carpet area and seems damp.

I thought all this happy horse **** was for the passenger front area, not the rear.

Is this the same headache of a problem or something different?

Thanks.

Just curious...
Is your car parked in a raked driveway? With your front end being upward?
If so, make sure these plugs are off...
You have one at each corner of the door bottom.
They will not allow water to drain and after build up inside your door, water will leak in from behind the door panel inside the car.
Saw this with my own eyes. Couldn't believe it!

Your links were for the leaking into the FRONT area of the car. His question pertained to the REAR area of the car. I can see why he asked the question since I have not seen any info related to water in the REAR area. It wasn't a question of living in the past as much as not having seen a post for his condition.

People on these forums are quick to give snotty sarcastic responses which truly are not needed. If someone zings you then by all means zing them back but I prefer the moto of "don't say in forum to someone what you would not say to them face to face....you might get hurt"

Thanks pascal for the heads up. Right now until I get the other garage built, the stang has to sit outside, but I do keep a car cover on it. My driveway does have a slight incline but I've never noticed the rear carpet being damp. I will keep checking and pull those plugs off the bottom doors.

Mine only had the problem in the front because the car was either in the garage or backed in driveway so the nose was at a down angle. His may be in the driveway with the back angled down. And yes gravity is a cruel and unpredictable mistress.

Luckily mine was fixed the very first attempt...

well mine is just the opposite. i park on a very slight uphill incline. it rained one day and froze that night. i checked the front and it was slightly wet, checked the back and heard a crunch. yup, it was all frozen back there. how horrible! i now keep a towel down under the carpet to catch any water while i make sure the leak is 100% fixed.

honestly this issue should be a recall, i have no idea why it is not. if water getting on the computer and causing the electrics to go out and potentially cause a wreck isn't a big enough reason to have a recall THEN WHAT THE F*@& IS?

I park on the street in front of my house on a slight incline with my nose up in the air.

I check that funky multi colored insulation under the dash and it was dry as a bone. I couldn't really lift the front carpet up, but it didn't feel wet. Just the rear.

So do you think It is the door drain holes? I'll remove them later.

Will that colored insulation be wet if its the cowl water leak?

Thanks!
