Default Saw and 05 Today missing the driver side mirror.

So I was at the gas station today and saw a Blue 05 sitting at the pump. The owner had already gone inside to pay. Of course I took a look at it and noticed the driver side mirror was missing. Ouch!!! So I got finished pumping and went inside. The owner was in front of me in line so I had to ask what happened.

Apparently he was driving on the Autobahn through construction and his mirror hit one of the tall barriers with the yellow flashing light on it.

NOW THAT MUST SUCK!!!

They are more popular than other US cars - there is a niche market for them but because Ford doesnt 'officially' sell them it means you have to buy from an 'importer' and they are very expensive, this means that whilst alot of people can afford them over in the US, over here in Europe it generally means you have to be earning a hell of a lot more money to buy one [:@]. Also - there is an issue with gas - its around $8 a gallon in the UK and so alot of people cannot afford to run them, I work from home and keep the miles down so I am quite lucky!

I took mine to a BBQ on saturday and nearly everybody I know wanted to sit in it or go for a spin - they went crazy over it........but none of them knew anything about an 05 Mustang!

ya, $8 a gallon sounds prohibitive for most people LOL

I guess it is something of a novelty over in the UK. I bet most people would see this car as an exotic?? That's what I would think if I didn't know it was a 2005 Mustang.

Yeh novelty is a good word to use. They are also seen as more 'elite' cars than in the US - both because of the price and also because you dont see many and people dont know what the heck they are.

... people dont know what the heck they are.
Of course, that isn't helped by the fact that you've removed most (all?) of the identifying badging

yes, its a shame the Mustang mirrors don't fold back, so that all you have is a scratch!
I almost lost mine at McDonalds the other day on this new pole they put up to keep you from hitting the pickup window tray. Now I stay far away.
