Default Longtube v/s Shorty any drone issues?

Im not gonna ask about whats better/louder. I have some droning that i would like to chase down and get rid of while upgrading. I looked here for awhile to see, i thought threre was a thread about it. Id like to start at the front and work my way back instead of the other way away around. Just wasnt working for me.

Would one or the other lower droning? Or would the raise it. I know for some it sounds louder, deeper or more pulsing. All is fine with me, Id like to upgrade the headers and im more than willing to go LT just if its could cause droning its rather not.

My BBK shorties made a more pulsing exhaust note and reduced drone.

Your going to hear long tubes more when standing outside the car then you would shorties. Basically what you'll hear is the exhaust banging in all four tubes and at the collector. I like it.

I have no problems going longtube. Id rather get them, so i dont need to be sold on the idea. I just wounder if one would reduce/increase drone more than another

Why longtubes? Wouldn't shorties with a catless H/X pipe be the same thing?

if im gonna go through a header install and when i plan on more power down the road id rather go with what has been proven to offer more power, longtubes. SInce i already do have a highflow X and a O/R X the shorty would really be cheaper than going catted LT. Id get a catted set up if i go longtubes

If you can pass emissions with longtubes, then go for it, but if not then get shorties. The shorty install is not as bad as people make it seem, it takes a while but I did it on jack stands in my garage and put in a Bassani catted-x at the same time. Drone isn't bad, but it definitely "pulses" alot where it used to drone. Also, I would not recommend the Bassani mid pipe, mine fit like complete garbage and Bassani never got back to me about the issue I was having. IMO not worth the extra money.

i live in PA but ill be in Florida in about 5 months for about a year and from there im not sure. (im in the navy). In PA i have no worries about LT, but catless is different. Florida i have no worries at all but if i do add headers ill most likely put a catted set up on. I think the safe bet would be shorties with cats, that way i know ill be safe no matter where i end up. But i tend to doing the non safe thing like buying summer tires on a DD when i live in PA.

Its nice being loud, but ive crossed the line on sound quality.
