Default anything i need to know before getting my car dynoed

i'm planning on getting my car dynoed this weekend, there aren't any places here in waco, but i found a place that is 45 min south that i can go to and it seems pretty legit. they have a dynojet, which is pretty good if you wanna brag numbers to your friends i guess. anyways, my dad doesn't want me to get it done because he's afraid something will happen to my car. is there anything i would need to worry about? just wanting a heads up on anything that you guys have encountered.

thanks

Now that you mention it, I think I might spend some of my tax money and get mine dynoed this weekend too.

First off-- Have you done any mods to the engine that would affect the base line tune for your car? If completely stock then not a problem. If modifed then expect to need to retune while on the dyno.
Do you have a hand held tuner? If so, make sure you have it when you go on the dyno.If a modifications are done by the guy tuning he can load it into the hand held like the SCT-2 and you will a have a copy of the tune stored. Or are just going on the dyno to see how much hp/tq it's putting out?
The dyno run itself will do no harm to your car. Just strapped down and running up through the gears and checking the readout at various rpm's It sounds mean when standing close by the car and pushing 6000 rpm's .
Good luck with your run.Post results
