I have been looking for some new mufflers for some time now.The pypes MM system just doesnt have the sound I'm looking for and its a bit too loud. I have started looking at the flowmaster AT classic and they seem to be a happy medium between MACs and magnaflows. Which is what I am looking for. I was wondering if anyone is running these mufflers or have had them and what you think of them.

How is the drone with these?
How was the fit and finish?
Are they pretty deep? (Hard to tell from youtube)
How loud are they?
And whats a good mid pipe to pair these with?

As soon as I get some positive replies I'm gonna pull the trigger on these.

I have the american thunder classics on my 09 gt(stainless steal verison that are the original 40 series mufflers) and I love them, they are nice and deep and have a great tone to them. They drone slightly but nothing like majority of the other axle backs out there. I have had slp's, macs and magnaflows previously on my 05 Gt and these newer flowmasters sound 100 times better than them. Im 100% satified with them and they also where the best fitmant on the car(didn't have to tweak a single thing). They remind me of my foxbody, nice and deep and has that old muscle car sound to them. But as far as a mid pipe I havent put mine on yet, if you go with the flows definetly go the h-pipe route and stay away from any type of x pipe because they ca get raspy with an x.

I have a set of the Flowmaster 50 series axle backs for sale if you would be interested. They are slightly louder than the stock mufflers were on my 2010, had a nice deep tone and had almost zero drone. The fit and finish was perfect. They just were not loud enough for me. They were on the car for about 100 miles. $250.00 shipped to your door.

No thanks man I'm wanting the 40 series ones. But I am so torn between the flowmaster classics and the Mac flowpaths I wonder what they would sound like side by side
