New tune for Kooks LT's?

So I have had my Kooks installed for a while, but I never got a new tune after I added them. I have it tuned right now 93 oct for my K&N CAI by Brenspeed. When I got the tune I asked the Brenspeed rep if I would need a new tune when I got my kooks down the road and he told me no, it would run without it, and it does, but now I am wondering if I paid for a new tune if it would squeeze more power out of it, or if it would be a waste of cash. Any thoughts?

if you bought the headers from brenspeed they will do a new tune fore free. If you bought elsewhere you have to pay. And yes you can run without a retune but i would get one anyway

Definitely get one! There is more power in that car if you get a great tune. I doubt your mail order tune gave you all you needed.

I didn't buy them from Brenspeed because I got a sweet deal from a Houston shop, and it made sense. So I will have to pay for a new tune. I've been running the headers since last march with no problems at all, but it just occurred to me that a new tune may be a cheap and quick power adder.

It also occured to me that maybe I can find something cheap from Brenspeed (underdrive pulley or spark plugs or something) and get the free tune with the Kooks added on there.

My current mail order tune is for my CAI with stock headers, so I don't even have it mail order tuned for them. I will do another Brenspeed tune, not a local shop because being in the navy and moving a lot, I can get a hold of brenspeed anywhere if I have problems with it, but not a local shop.

How did your car feel once you put on the headers? I just got a set of Kooks myself and am totally excited to get tem on!!

It's a little off topic, but first off it sounded amazing (I got the high flow cats and the H-pipe) and the real noticable gain in power is once you get past 3k rmp. I remember my first drive on a Houston interstate being in the left lane doing 70 with an 18 wheeler to my right, and seeing construction in my lane forcing me to merge quickly approaching. I dropped it into 3rd and punched it and I couldn't believe how much it pulled. I was doing 110 and passing that truck in no time.

So thinking about getting even more power out of that with a tune makes me wonder.
