New 2011 GT or 2009 GT500 Help me decide

This is an easy one. Find a good deal on a GT500 and you'll be better off in the long run. New cars lose almost half their value in the first 3 years of ownership. But Shelby's definitely retain their value much better than regular mustangs. Let's play this out and see where you'd be three years down the road. Lets say you pay 35k for a 2011 GT today. In about three years, it will be worth around 18k. Now let's say you pay the same 35k for a used GT500 today. In those same three years it still might be worth 25-28k. Maybe even higher if you keep the mileage down. Moreover, you would own something special as opposed to owning a regular GT. Trust me, three years from now a 2011 mustang GT is not going to be ANYTHING special! But a Shelby will always be a Shelby.
Insurance is only $10.00 per month more for Shelby
No additional markup from my dealer because they are cool, but still price is same.
Anything special to be aware of if looking for a Shelby?

If you're concerned about Shelby specific problems, I'm sure the guys on teamshelby.com can help you out. Back when I had my SGT, they were very helpful.
If the price for the 2009 GT500 was around $35k, that's the one I'd buy.

GT500 every day of the week. I wish I had bought a used GT500 instead of a new GT. Its worth it for the forged engine, not to mention all the other extras the GT500 has. With just a pulley change & tune, you can add about 100hp to the GT500.
Supercharging a GT is a much bigger endeavor than just changing a pulley on an already supercharged GT500. Additionally with the forged engine you don't have to worry about making too much power and blowing it up (provided you don't go nuts with it and try to make 700-800hp).

GT500 all the way... faster, looks better IMO, and you dodge the depreciation bullet... and it's a Shelby..
*edit* Just noticed this is an old thread that someone bumped. :P
OP has the 2011 GT on order, lol.
Wait I didn't know they were taking orders yet?
