Default what is the perfect idle rpm for hotrods?

mine is set at 850. easy to drive, but seems like it could bump harder at a lower idle.

That sounds a bit high especially if you haven't done cams and cranked it up a bit. Are you sure you don't have the A/C or the defroster on?

I run 750 idle. It's not too low to cause a dip stalling the car, but it's low enough to get a serious lope out of it. I have meant to lower it a little more just to see what it's like, but never bothered. I had it at 850 for a little while and it's amazing how much of the lope is lost at just 100 rpm more. It sounded good, but 750 is awesome.

I also notice slightly less lope when the ac kicks on. Not a lot but it does make a difference.

My tuner had mine at 720. It liked to make me seasick 850 is standard idle on these from what I'm told. I like mine somewhere around 800... Sometimes it rocks and sometimes it doesn't

I get a fair amount of shake at 750. I love it. For me, the more it shakes the better. I may try a 700 idle and see what that's like.

nuke, hotrods are in and that was the set idle by the tuner. he said i could lower it, but get use to the cams at 850 first.

lol that would suck. Actually I think my driver's side over-axle pipe is already a little loose where it connects to my mid pipe. I need to get under there and tighten the crap out of it. I think I loosened it up as I wiggled the hell out of it when experimenting with different mufflers. I also need to fix my driver's side boomtube as it's too far to the left and it's like 2mm away from my bumper.
