Default Why Can't I order a bare bones GT with the Track Pack?

Also it makes no sense that your not allowed to put factory racing stripes or a spoiler on a Track Pack. Does Ford subscribe to the look slow, go fast philosophy? I wish I could order the cheapest GT and then just pay $1,500 more to add the track pack, since I would end up stripping this thing for track duty anyways and dont need sync and all that fancy crap when all I wanna hear is that glorious V8 pipe symphony.

I am no suspension expert, but you could probably get a better aftermarket suspension upgrade for the less than 1500.

hey smoke,
dont quote me, but i "think" the reason is because the stability control offered for premium gt. im not sure but maby you can order the fr5oo suspension package from ford racing and stick it on a gt. i think if you can do that, that would cost feasible because that package is less $ than the track pack

one thing to keep in mind is what actually comes with the track pack. the tires alone almost pay for the whole track pack. since i recently bought a track pack stang i was curious on how much tires were gonna set me back. 360$ a tire. thats from tire rack on line. 19" wheels 373 rear end, well im sure you know the specs. so its not just the suspension.

Is the rear end beefier or just a steeper ratio?

For most people that were already going to get the Mustang premium, the track pack sounds like a steal for $1,500. But for me the track pack is going to set me back $1,500 + $3000 (difference between base and premium GT MSRP), I'm sure I can buy a lot of go fast goodies for $4,500.

So just out of curiosity, who's the go to vendor for the FR500 goodies?

ford racing has the fr500 kit, you can order from that website. as far as the rear end goes its just 373 ratio.

hey smoke,
if your looking for a plain gt you can find steals right now. advice, if you have the patience wait for the 2011's to hit dealer floors than buy your gt. with all the hype on the 2011 im sure you'll find a used gt with hardly any miles for cheap. im pretty sure 2011's hit the floors in may. so if you can hold off for a couple months. hell at that point youll probably be able to find a premium

hey smoke,
i did a little research for you. the suspension kit your probably looking for is the FR3 handling pack and it retails for 1335.00. keep in mind ford racing isnt the only place to get handling packs. you might want to take a look at steeda's website.
