Up to you, but doesnt seem worth the money or the risk to your car or your health...

I'm not sure how this would work with Sync, but when I had my aftermarket unit in my past vehicles, I had the installer "rig" it to disable the parking feature. He basically took the black wire on the harness and grounded it to the parking break wire to "trick" the unit to think that the parking break was always engaged, allowing me to operate the navigation features and the dvd player while driving. Granted, it can be distracting to have a movie playing while driving, but it does come in handy on road trips when your passenger might want to watch a movie.

It is illegal in California to have an in dash DVD playing where the driver can see it. Other states, I dunno. Dave, I understand what you mean. What I did was to get a portable DVD player for my daughter to play in the back seat on road trips. It would drive me crazy in the dash.

My Pioneer DVD unit is smart enough to know if I wired it to ground to trick it. It wants to see a voltage change instead. So what I did was I hooked it up to a switch so it will see the high then low voltage it needs. HAX!
I did this for 1) a passenger being able to watch something 2) music videos but I won't watch it, just listen 3) it's fun to hack stuff
Yep, these things are great for watching porno while in traffic or long trips....

I didnt really care much about the DVD part. I was more thinking about the NAV functions. I hate having to stop when I just want to do a simple function on the NAV. My TomTom in my F150 is much better for that.
