If you can live with paying $29 for it do it, it definitely sounds like you are set one it.

If I were you, I'd offer 27-28k up front to him. Once he knows you are that serious about buying he should buckle.

Every month that goes buy he's shelling out money. Offer him $28,000 with the intent to walk away; he may bite. If not and it's what you REALLY want, then pay him the $29k. What's another $1k if it's your dream machine?

I would go for it if it is the car you want. When I bought my Shelby GT, the guy was the same way. Some people just don't like haggling (myself included) I bought my car for what he owed on it, it was a good price and both of us walked away happy. Its a sweet car, not very common so he knows that there will be another buyer before too long. Again, if its the car you want, at a fair price that you can afford, I would go for it.

thanks for all the input guys....i Am kinda set on it because i know his car is valued at 21k as a base GT before the roush upgrades so 29 is a good deal with that car esp since they only made 743 of them in 2008....

i just wanna know if its going to be a royal fk up from you guys before pulling the trigg....plus, gt500s right now are still in the 35k+ range and when the 11's come out, they will only go down to 30k range im sure....

i would be much more comfortable paying only 28k but i wouldnt want to lose the chance of owning it over 1k though lol....

working with some buyers on my car right now so once its sold, ill check with him again with 28k in the barrel and see what happens.....

Go for it. Whether you paid $25 or $30 will not matter after you own the car. 5 years from now you won't remember what you paid for it anyway. What he's asking is a fair price for the car, so if you like it, get it.

I'd say you are doing rather well with negoations actually, heres something to think about...

You gotta remember it is a buyers market right now for these cars. YOU are in the drivers seat, not him. Just like you selling your GT right now, there are TONS of GT's for sale, and a pretty decent amount of 427's to go around as well. You gotta make that guy believe that. To be honest, I think you should be patient when making a decision like this. If you found this car this fast, chances are you can find another one, and maybe even get a better deal. That car more than likely won't sell tomorrow, remember that. YOU are in the drivers seat on this one.

I have some sound advice here from a guy who has personally owned 53 cars. If this is the car you want DO NOT lose it haggling over a thousand dollars. Blurple said it perfectly. After you buy it, you won't care whether you paid 28 or 29. All you'll know is how it makes you smile every time you walk up to it. Besides, on a 4 year loan we're talking like 30 bucks a month. If it's what you want... Buy it.
