A couple of little issues.

Actually with one issue I am not really sure if it is an issue or not but first:

Have you guys ever had a problem with your remote entry? I have noticed the last week or so that the car has been slow to respond when I hit the lock/unlock buttons on the key. Sometimes I have to be right up next to the car for it to work and at other times I can be 20 feet or more away and it will work. This morning it would not work even when standing next to the car. I had to use the key it self to unlock the car. I think I am going to take it to the dealer this afternoon sometime. Hopefully its just the key.

The thing that I don't know is an issue or not is that when I hit the trunk release button it make a loud 'clunk' noise. Do you guys have this on your cars? this is one of the thing I didn't think to check on other mustangs at the lots when I bought the car.

Have you tried your 2nd key fob to see if it acts the same? It could be a fob or battery issue. Yes, the trunk release solenoid is loud.

I have an issue where sometimes my trunk will not unlock when I dbl tap the trunk release. I have to either hit lock or unlock on the car to make the trunk open when this occurs. Sometimes its fine and others.....

Sounds like your key battery. Does it do the same with your spare key?

And yes, the trunk pop is quite loud.

GrayGhost01GT 02-18-2010 10:51 AM

What everyone else says I think it is Battery^^^ also, Have you dropped your keys hard or got any water on them?

SirDrums 02-18-2010 01:56 PM

I don't think i have dropped them hard and I know I haven't had them in water..

I am like you guys think its a battery but the 'fob' for my 05 escape (I bought it new) still has the original battery in it and I can have it honk clear across a large parking lot.

I know its not a big issue, just curious as I am surprised the battery could go dead so quickly (only had the car 3 months)

One more thing. You guys have a hard time pushing the trunck release button? I can't get my darn thumb to fit in that little hole...

GT Road Warrior 02-22-2010 05:52 PM

I experienced the same problem a few days ago. I have not tried the other key yet. I have only had mine for a month.

SirDrums 02-24-2010 12:25 PM

Well I haven't taken it to the dealer yet becasue I can't reproduce the problem on demand.

After writing this thread, I walked outside and the car started responding to the FOB and has been since.

I know something fishy is going on.... just can't get it figured out just yet.

Is the car by a lot of other cars, radio towers, anything that could be producing interference?

SirDrums 02-24-2010 04:32 PM

Never thought about interference. I guess that is possible but when it wasn't working I could hold the key right next to the car with the window down and nada.
