Our 2006 has a build date!!
Just found out today that our Build Date is 8 August. Hopefully have it by the end of August.
I am still trying to figure out the 18" wheel confusion as to what Wheel is really available and what it really looks like from a reputable source. Ford doesn't even know. At least they are not telling me or my dealer. We have a few more days to change the order.

Hey all- first post here for me... Coincidentally placed the order for my 06 GT today- salesman told me first day of 06's production starts Aug 8th- figured mine would be couple months out...just curious- when did you place your order?
Now i'm hoping the salesman might be mixed up on mine and the actual build date might be Aug 8th also?
If he's not mistaken on the start date, and yours is scheduled for the first day- thats pretty cool for you- if he is mistaken and Aug 8th is my build date too, then thats pretty darn cool to me...cant wait.
BTW- I ordered Stickshift/Vista blue/black cloth/the 'little' interior pkg that gets leather wheel only...talked to the wife about leather, but afraid it might get a bit hot on long trips...I liked the 'comfortweave' seats in the old 69- although black vinyl they breathed pretty well and felt cool as cloth. Might be getting a pretty plain GT, but it's been all Ive wanted since seeing the one at the show a year or two ago...got a runaround trying to get a sonic blue 05, been stopping at the dealer every couple weeks to see if anything changing on 05 orders, and Friday found out 06 orders were being accepted- but no sonic blue...cool though as the vista blue looks a shade closer to my 69 FB (acapulco blue- my fave). I'd been bugging the poor salesman since to build up/place order to get it scheduled, he called this morning to say its in the works. WOO-HOO

Congrats on the order. That's what you have to do to get want you want... got to pull the trigger and just order. I knew there was no way I would find a Tungsten GT with the options I wanted just lying around at a dealer anytime soon. If you haven't yet, read through the posts here and google 2005 or 2006 Mustang GT to see what other forums are out there. I post on 5 myself... and I know a bunch of others post on multiple ones too.
Lots of info out there on how to make sure your order really got placed (get a DORA), how to track your order / build (ERL - evil robot lady), and a Ford employee that will give you info if you post your VIN# for him on another forum.
Good luck and hopefully yours will be built within the first couple of weeks in Aug. - I know mine will be....

That is so damn wierd - you have a build date and must have put down a deposit to build a car - and the car company wont tell you what wheel you will get, lol - thats just BAD customer service if you ask me!

I ordered this 06 GT on June 10th. Priority number 12. X-Plan.
At the moment we have the stock 17" wheels on it. We are trying furiously to find out what the 64E and the 64W wheels really look like. We want the 18" wheels that look like Polished American Racing wheels. My dealer is a straight shooter and he/they can not get an answer from Ford.

The bullits are 64W and no date on when cars ordered with those will be produced. I would guess Oct. - Nov. I like the look of both so I'm going with what's first avail. That guys Red GT with the fanblades and BFG KDW's looks sick.... those are the tires ford should be putting on these 18" wheel options.
