Default New! Quick questions

I just purchased my 05 mustang gt today. Its in beautiful condition, previous gentleman was much older and cared for it well, only 16k miles in 5 years. Anyways is there anything I should be looking out for thats common problems? Had a mechanic look over it and said everything seems to be in working order. Just being precautious : P Also it has the shaker 1000 audio system in it with an aux button....but i cant seem to find out where the aux cord or plug in is any suggestions on where to look?

Check in the console. There should be an Aux jack and a power receptacle.

I think 2007 was the first model year that there was an auxiliary jack in the console.

Well, since you asked, and the subject came up again recently. I'd get the hose out and check for the infamous leak. Nothing to get paranoid about. It's just the kinda thing you'd want to know about as early as possible.

I'm gonna assume we'll be seeing pics soon...

Congratulations on the car, sounds like you got a nice one.

The one thing I would check is for the brake reservoir leak. This was a problem with '05s and the dealers never fixed it. You need to check the frame rail on the driver's side right below the brake reservoir. The problem is that the cap leaks and the brake fluid will drop onto the frame rail and destroy the paint. The frame rail is almost impossible to get to so you won't be able to do anything about the paint damanage but you should fix the cap to keep the problem from getting worse.

The best way to fix the cap is to remove it, remove the rubber liner inside the cap. Create a "washer" from an old inner tube and install it inside the cap, then, re-install the rubber cap liner. Re-install the cap and make sureit is tight. That should prevent any more fluid from leaking.
