2007 4.6 V8 Mustang GT Backfire

2007 4.6 V8 Mustang GT Backfire
I have a 07 GT/CS with 92000 miles in her, when I stomp on it at any speed it backfires and then takes off. Is this normal? What can be done to correct it. Thanks for any help.
