If I build a Mustang on FordVehicles.com it says the illuminated door sills are a $207 option. The 2010 GT I just bought has them ... well ... the Mustang wording lights up and changes color with MyColor. Is this the same as illuminated door sills?

EDIT ... never mind. I found it is standard on Premium ... I guess Build my Ford is wrong ...

You purchased a Premium model. The non-Premium vehicles do not have ambient lighting, illuminated door sills, or MyColor gauges.

Thanks ... I was just asking because on Build My Ford if you build a GT Premium you can still select the Illuminated Door Sill option and it adds $207 to the price.

You can buy custom plates to go in your sills so that instead of "MUSTANG" it says "BOBS CAR" or something. Maybe this is what it is. $200 seems too cheap to go from standard sills to illuminated sills. I bet it's just the sill inserts.

I went to the Ford website too & I didn't know that when you get a deluxe model(whether V-6 or GT) you can't upgrade to leather, the audio system or the wheels. Can't get HIDs or the glassroof either. I guess "base" model means base model, huh? I guess no more strange combination cars anymore............

can you get the lighting pkg (mycolor) upgrade if you don't have it from the factory?
