Default exhaust to loud

Hey Fellas. Quick question for you. I recently bought and installed a pypes offroad H and slp loudmouths. OMG!! Way to loud. In the city I live in no emission testing and I drove it with that setup for a weekend and didnt get any attention from cops and I actually passed a couple. It turns ALOT of heads and gets alot of thumbs up, but i dont want to be "that guy".LOL. But at 1700-2200 and 2700-3300 rpms in trumpets to a rediculous volume. Like no kidding it started to give me a headache. So needless to say I took the H pipe off and replaced it with stock. ( Fitment was pretty good BTW. I was kinda skeptical from everything I have heard.) The stock h and LM's sound pretty good but no quite loud enough. I was think of putting the O/R H back on and welding in some resonators or some M80's. Would this tone it down? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

The reason you have such a loud exhaust is because you don't have any mufflers on your car. It's all tubing. Welding in some mufflers would definitely help.

I have the same o/r h. The sound quiets down a bit over time. mine was much louder when new, I don't know exactly why? I was running my o/r h with no axlebacks at all for a while so I am aware of the sound. You should be okay in town as long as you don't get on it when in the wrong areas. Put the o/r h back on an possibly switch to a different ab, maybe gta's to tone it down a bit? I have the stingers and loudmouths and the stingers drone a lot with the auto and they trumpet.

I have an O/R X-pipe with high flow cats and Borla stingers and there is no trumpeting or rasp at all and its still nice and loud.

M80's would make it sound better.

You have a few choices: add hi-flow and/or resonator/bullet type muffler such as dynomax race bullets, magnflow mufflers or pypes M80. Or you coud replace the SLPs with another axleback.
