Looking to buy 2010 GT - Opinions
#31
Duh! The prices the dealer gave him are invoice minus the various rebate/financing deals...

I'm looking to buy a 2010 GT w/ all options (Nav, accented seats, etc.) minus the glass roof. So far, here's what my dealer has come back with:
$35376 and 0% for 60.
$34376 and 1.9% for 60
$33376 and the Ford standard rate
MSRP: 39k
************************************************** *************
So the price is negotiated for each rebate/financing rate option. I only suggested to get the payments at those prices to see the difference in payments. Then you can make your mind up.
But yeah, if you wait for the 2011's to hit the lot, the rebates on the 2010's will only get larger!
BTW, X-Plan pricing is available on 2011 GT's. That means that they can be bought for invoice plus a couple of hundred dollars, not retail or above retail (This isn't a limited-production run Mustang like the GT500 - it REPLACES the 4.6 GT).

+1, the above is absolutely correct, the only thing I will say is that there aren't too many 10's left how I would want them around where I live, when I was looking for the model I ordered there was only 1 other in the entire country, during the peak of 2010 sales, and it had been sold right before I had called.
Also, the 2011's will be subject to big mark ups (think 2010 camaro), so keep that in mind. Unless you know for sure that you can get the xplan, or any dealer plan like that, I would either wait until the prices go down or steal a 2010.

I actually just bought a 2010 gt today, so i found my way to these forums to check out information. Heres my story and my opinion as far as the 2011 is concerned.
I received 0 percent for 5 years. with tax, my 2010 gt premium with the track pack is going to cost me a total of roughly 3400, being registered in expensive *** new york. I got a few thousand or so off the price from ford and the dealer, as well as the 0 percent option which apparently is a new incentive to buy these 2010s before the 11s come out.
This car that i found, in the kona blue, gt premium, with the track pack, was the only vehicle in the entire northeast of that color with that option i wanted (373 rear axle, dual brake callipers etc). All the other kona blue gt premiums (im not willing to bend on the color i want the blue), had the highway gears, and the dealer told me there were 6 of them total across the northeast. So once i heard that i was getting 0 percent financing (im financing 20000) i jumped on it.
I also did a rough pricing out of the 2011 with the options i wanted, and the price came out to about 36000, which of course is not including tax, or the financing that im undoubtedly going to get at least 6 percent on (at least when the car is newish). All of a sudden the 2011 is at least 42000, and even though its ballpark, its still about 8 thousand more dollars then i spent on the 2010. And even though i want the 2011 5.0 more then anything in the world, at this time i know that that extra money isnt something im willing to part with, and id rather just get a brand new 2010 with the options i want on it, and be happy. Sure i know the 2011 is going to be faster, but it is what it is. the 2010 isnt chop meat, and it can still perform quite well, especially when im done with it.

$33,000
1.9%
I'm making the deposit today.
GT, Manual Trans, Grabber Blue, Nav and all other options minus the glass roof.
Looks like I'll be joining the club. I'll have two 4.6L V8 Fords in my driveway. The other is our 08 Ford Explorer Ironman. I'm gonna have a mean sounding garage
