Looking to buy 2010 GT - Opinions
First Post, Glad to be here
I'm looking to buy a 2010 GT w/ all options (Nav, accented seats, etc.) minus the glass roof. So far, here's what my dealer has come back with:
$35376 and 0% for 60.
$34376 and 1.9% for 60
$33376 and the Ford standard rate
MSRP: 39k
I may go with the standard rate since I'll pay it off early and the interest savings won't really matter. Fair price? or should they go lower? I would wait for the 2011, but I rather not pay sticker when I can take the savings and buy an S/C.

Wait for the '11 and get the power upgrade! Find someone that can give you an X-Plan pin number and you will only pay $200 - $300 over invoice plus take advantage of rebates and special financing.
If you do get a '10, have them calculate the monthly payment for each rate and make your decision from there. 0% is attractive because every dollar paid is applied to the principle at each payment - there is no need to pay it off early (more money for mods!).

+1. I'm not really concerned about the payment. I'll pay $1000 a month if I can it for $25k
I'm more concerned with getting a good deal. I would wait for the '11 model, but again, I'm not paying sticker price for a car that's virtually identical for a gear ratio I won't use and more HP that I can always get later via a S/C.

The car that I'm looking to buy, I can have it for 33k or less.
For a 2011 w/ all options minus glass roof, it will retail for 40k+. I don't "need" to wait for 412 HP and I'd rather have the savings because I can drop the cash for a S/C later if I wanted one. However, I don't need 400+ HP for my daily drive. But I love the looks of the GT.

Because for a fully loaded 2011, dealers will be charging sticker price + markup.

people need to chill, the dealer mark ups won’t be that high for the 2011 GT, base models will be around 32-33 off the lot. they still have to compete for sales. the general public will not buy a way overpriced base V8 when they can get the same power and muscle car history from a chevy for cheaper. 33K for the 2010 + 8K for the FI and install will put you around (of course this depends on set up) 450rwhp for 41K. You can get a 2011 + FI for around 40k and be way over those numbers for around the same price +/- 1K.
Edit: if your not worried about the power diff then get the fully up graded 10, personaly i would still wait for the 11 because i know i would love my brand new 10 until the first brand new 11 pulled up next to me at a red light. thats just me, just make sure in 6 months your not going to have regrets. there are a few numbers that have meaning in the mustang world they are 302, 427 and 5.0

Wait for 2011! For me, even V6 twin turbo sounds awesome. Especially if you gonna use it as a daily driver, those MPG do add up... Otherwise go with 0% interest. Unless you have 50k in your checking account you never know when you need the money!

The comparison between getting a 2010 Mustang GT sc'd and buying a 2011 with potential markup is deceiving. Most people who can afford a $40-$50k 2011 cannot afford a $35 2010 and supercharger. The difference is financing. The total cost of the 2011's power is financed, but what average Mustang buyer has between $3k and $5k to spend out of pocket on a car accessory?
