You should get no whine if you plugged it and the firewall properly and removed all parts. I am planning on machining a thick piece of plexyglass to a diameter matching that of sound tube where it enters the intake tube once I get the 2011. Clamp it in similar to how the sound tube is clamped. Have used this technique many times to delete resonant chambers on intake systems. What I do wish is that CAI manufacturers would make a clean tube option with no provisions for the engine compartment snake ! You don't need the stinkin thing with louder muffs and CAI.

That was the stupidest thing that for did starting in 2010. I took mine off the firewall and plugged the firewall. I wish that these aftermarket companys would also offer one that did not have the provision cause it would look alot cleaner, the only company I know of offering one without it is the JLT cai system.

What is the purpose of this tube? Does it pull intake air from the cabin? Why?

Good question. I think it's just a novelty? Not sure. I like the sound myself.

Worthless and a total eye sore to look at under the hood. If I was to buy a new GT I would open the hood and rip it off right in front of the deal and hand it to him before I even drove it off the lot.
