Any benefit to a 93 Octane economy tune? I had American Muscle send me an 87 Octane economy tune and it did bupkis for my mileage over stock on 87.

mileage tunes are for pussies IMO...the cars are meant to be driven....15+ MPG and you are doing fine

Nothing like spending $400 or more for some custom tunes/tuner for the sake of MAYBE gaining 1 MPG (if you're lucky). Custom tunes are primarily about performance. Getting a 93 tune for economy is just WRONG.

I bought my Stang for the wood it gives me; not for economy. But considering that the average Stang gets about 24 MPG or more highway, be darned happy.

If you need economy, get a bike.

Thanks for the feedback... but I'm not interested in an internet ****-comparison contest.

I drive around with a 91 octane performance tune... and seeing as how it takes all of five minutes to switch tunes, it's nice to have the option to save some gas when I want to lay low.

So...has anyone actually tried a 93 octane performance tune? Is "maybe 1 mpg" a realistic figure? The 87 octane economy tune from American Muscle made no measurable difference so I would believe it.

Thanks in advance for sharing any experiences with this.

I only have my 2010 a month and about 500 miles on so I've been taking it
somewhat easy on it. That being said , I started using 93 oct, based on the
owners mannul recommendation. This is my daily driver ,but I agree with Edmonds review on the 2010 GT and that is, it makes stop light mience meat
out of anything in it's class ! I have yet to see anyones tail lights from a stop
light if I didn't want to. I'm not sure it even needs a tune. I can't imagine
what the 5.0 will feel like.
