Default Buying First car......Need advice and guidance

I am for sure buying a Mustang may or june of this year. As soon as i get home from school. I have a max payment option of about $500 a month which is highest i could possibly go. rather be around $425-$450

I really want an 08-09 California special or a nice interior on a GT will be great. It is easier to spend money on performance upgrades then interior so might as well start with a sweet interior.

Things it needs to have.
-V8
-Manual Trans
-leather
under 15000 miles

There is an 08 gt/cs and an 09 gt/cs at a dealer pretty close to me. They want $24,450 and 25,950 respectively. Both were sitting outside all winter.

They both have 5000 miles which kinda freaks me out. so Here are my questions
1) is it scary to think an 08 used only has 5000 miles
2) How low could the price on these be worked down (I am a hell of a talker and have dealt with dealers before almost bought an 07 gt/cs loan got denied due to lack of credit history that problem is over)
3)any advice much appreciated.

I know there was a similar thread about new 2010 Gt's that did help a little. thanks to everyone this forum is like my big brother but for mustangs.

Well sometimes the cars are just not taken off the lot and if they are they could have been returned so thats where the 5000 miles come from maybe. You can definitely talk the price down I mean my friend talk down a GT when he bought it a year ago from around 35000 to 240000 so I mean it can be easily done especially in this economy.

have they been titled yet? I'd have to believe so with 5K, but that will affect the price and negotiations (used vs new)...what colors are they...and yea, as the previous has mentioned, go with the GT/CS if you can...congrats...

The GT/CS would be the way to go. Try to talk them down as far as possible. If they tell you to put a number down write $15K. They are always going to say NO, but you can figure out how desperate they are.

By June I'm sure the dealer would want to dump the those cars considering the 2011 will be out.

Sorry for the offtopic reply but when exactly are the 2011s expected to show up on the lots? Or more specifically, when can I build one online?

oo yes. i got my 2004 GT dirt cheap in the summer. right as the 2005s were hitting the lots. didnt even have to argue. the salesman gave us a killer deal right off the bat.

GT/CS is hot, I would fo with one of those. 5k is not terrible. Its possible previous owner babied it and drove it sparingly in the dry months, then had to trade it in. Other side of the coin is that it was repo'd, and in this day and age when people are loosing jobs left and right is a high possiblity. Anyways, when 11's come out, dealers will want to get rid of all this old stock. Unfortunately that means our cars will take another depreciation hit, good for new buyers, bad for current owners.
