I doubt they are going to let you do that. It's called Insurance Fraud. You are allowed to remove personnel effects and nothing else. So unless that bad puppy is at your home and nobody has pictures of it...you'd be better off leaving them installed

Yeah it's a shame because insurance doesn't really own those rims, since they aren't insuring it, unless he specifically had those added onto the policy. Insurance is the one frauding the people.

He is well within his rights taking the aftermarket wheels off if his policy did not directly cover them as long as he replaces with a suitable substitute for them. Ran into this very problem with a high end aftermarket stereo system in a truck I totaled. Also OP check and see what the insurance company will sell you the car back for it may be worthwile to get it back salvage everything on it that the water didnt hurt sell on ebay then sell the hulk to a salvage yard. Otherwise there is the potential for a salvager to buy it from the insurance company cheap clean it up and try and resell it. There are several states that you can take a salvage title too retitle the vehicle and dump the salvage off it. Who here wants to get a car that was sunk in a pond?

For what it's worth... Chrysler has the same bolt pattern and also Acura.
Don't ask me how I know, lol.
So if you go to a bone yard, you can find plenty of donut wheels from different cars.
