Default CDC Shaker kit with Prothane MM

Hey all. I have been toying with the idea of getting the CDC Shaker kit for a nice new look along with a chin spolier and center fog light kit. I also have the Prothane MM that slightly lift the engine and my worry with getting the shaker kit is that i may run into a clearnce issue when trying to close the hood. I hope someone has this set up or knows about it cuz I would hate to be 8 in the hole and have a hole in my hood. thanks!

I just finished installing a CDC Shaker last week and I don't think it will work of you have lifted your engine. I modified the intake tube to fit my JLT intake and it was just a very small amount higher than the stock intake location and it ended up causing interference with the trim ring under the hood that holds the blanket up. This caused my hood to be distorted and wrinkled looking. I have trimmed the ring and have just about eliminated the rubbing/distortion problem. Give the guys at CDC a call and they can help you out. How much did you raise your engine?

It shouldn't be a problem. I have a supershaker now and I am able to close the hood. Just don't slam it shut. Close it and then just push it the rest of the way closed. But it should be alright, the only place it may rub more is on the back elbow. But I wouldn't worry about it.

The mounts may have lift the engine between 1/8 - 1/4. I can't cut them either because my headers hit my steering shaft. Brenspeed tells me I'll have a problem and some other ppl on another forum told me that it will work lol I'll have to try calling CDC if I can find sometime. Hopefully someone with this set up can chime in.

I have the Shaker + prothene motor mounts. The mounts will raise the engine 1/8 - 1/4". I had trimmed down my mounts prior to installing them.
A friend of mine with the Shaker & prothene mounts had some rubbing on the trim ring, so I trimmed down my mounts before installing. It was not a big enough issue where you had trouble closing the hood. He still has the same setup 2 yrs later.
I had also had some steering shaft rub on hard right turns with my headers & stock mounts. After adding the prothene mounts, I no longer had any steering shaft rub issues. I also shifted the engine as far as I could away from the steering shaft before tightening the mount bolts.
What brand of headers do you have?

i have JBA shorties. i wont cut the MM cuz there is little clearnce now maybe 1/8 the most from header to shaft so id like to keep that. As far as the trim ring rub, what do u mean by that? the base part that the scoop rests on?

Well I can tell you that the Supershaker will fit. So what you do is buy the CDC Shaker cut the hole if it doesn't fit just sell it and buy a Supershaker. See now you have an excuse to buy it...
