Supernatural superstar claims 361hp off tune/headers/injectors??
Lemme start off by saying I'm on an iPhone so if I screw up grammar my bad. 24 hour driver duty chauferring Marines around in an e350. Joy.
Anyways, i was reading MM&FF and in the May 10 issue they claim 361hp on a 2010 mustang with just headers, tune and injectors! I assume that's at the wheels? Are gains like that typical? And do injectors add any decent gains on a seemingly stock engine??
Only reason I ask is I'm about to put my hot rod cam in and i'm wondering if upgraded injectors and ignition would make a difference with just those minor mods (already have intake and catback and it will be tuned).
Thanks

They must have been talking about flywheel HP. My estimated HP gains for the three items are, 300 RWHP on a Mustang Dyno. Flywheel HP would be about 345. Don't waste your money on injectors until you have a power adder.
Injectors-0 HP
L/T headers 10 RWHP
Tune- 15 RWHP

That has to be BS. There are maybe 20 HP at absolute most in LT headers and maybe 15-20 HP in a new tune.
So they got, what, 90 HP from these three mods?
I dont believe it at all.
Also that HAS to rear wheel horsepower unless they pulled the engine out and put it on an engine dyno.
Otherwise if it was estimated at the crank, why have 361 instead of 360.
If it is estimated it is complete horseshiite

It's a definite stretch... Unless they're basing their # on the manufacturers claims (cough cough) for the LT's and tune. Even if you consider best-case CRANK HP addition from LT's and a tune, it might just make 355 under ideal lab conditions, MAYBE. Maybe there are other variables that they failed to mention like tuned for 100 octane.
EDIT: Or maybe it's one of those... god forgive me... FACTORY FREAKS.

Yea those were my thoughts. I was hoping for 365hp with my cam, intake, LTs and exhaust with a custom dyno tune
